چکیده
Passive γ-ray spectroscopy is a useful technique for surveying the radioactive wastes and spent nuclear fuels under decommissioning. However, this method depends on material properties such as activity, density, element, scale, (especially) low-energy γ rays from 235U 239Pu. The γ-decay lines of 134Cs, 137Cs, 60Co, 154Eu occur at greater energies (than those 239Pu), these nuclides provide significant information fuel wastes. A CeBr3 spectrometer with small-volume crystal has been previously developed use in intense radiation measurements. We exposed to dose rates 0.025, 0.151, 0.342, 0.700, 0.954 Sv/h standard 137Cs field. 6.38 MBq 60Co calibration source was placed front detector surface. Identification full energy peak 1173 keV impossible higher than 0.700 Sv/h. subtraction spectra enabled identification peaks 1333 up Sv/h; relative resolution only slightly degraded rate.

Coherent Cherenkov radiation as an intense THz source
Diffraction and Cherenkov radiation of relativistic electrons from a dielectric target has been proposed as mechanism for production of intense terahertz (THz) radiation. The use of an extremely short high-energy electron beam of a 4th generation light source (X-ray free electron laser) appears to be very promising. A moderate power from the electron beam can be extracted and converted into THz...
متن کاملThe Intense Radiation Gas
– We present a new dispersion relation for photons that are nonlinearly interacting with a radiation gas of arbitrary intensity due to photon–photon scattering. It is found that the photon phase velocity decreases with increasing radiation intensity, it and attains a minimum value in the limit of super-intense fields. By using Hamilton's ray equations, a self-consistent kinetic theory for inter...
متن کاملEnergy shifts for a multilevel atom in an intense squeezed radiation field
We derive atomic energy-level shifts due to the presence of an electric field associated with an arbitrary quantummechanical state describing an intense, but otherwise arbitrary, radiation field, a particular example of such a state being squeezed radiation from an intense source. In another particular case, in which the radiation is classical and monochromatic, our result reduces to the well-k...
متن کاملNonthermal Transition of GaAs in Ultra-Intense Laser Radiation Field
Using the technique of tight-binding electron-ion dynamics, we have calculated the response of crystalline GaAs when a femtosecond laser pulse excites 1− 20% of the valence electrons. Above a threshold fluence, which corresponds to promotion of about 12% of the valence electrons to the conduction band, the lattice is destabilized and the band gap collapses to zero. This result supports the conc...
